January 1, FAA Launches URGENT Review After Marine One Near Miss

Wyatt’s Take
- The FAA is investigating a serious air-traffic incident involving Marine One — the helicopter that carries the President — and a commercial airliner taking off from Reagan National Airport
- This close call raises massive questions about the security protocols protecting presidential aircraft in one of the most restricted airspaces in America
- Americans deserve answers about how our commander-in-chief’s safety was put at risk near our nation’s capital
The Federal Aviation Administration has opened an investigation into a dangerous air-traffic incident involving Marine One and a commercial flight departing from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The near miss occurred in some of the most heavily regulated airspace in the United States.
Marine One is the call sign for any Marine Corps helicopter carrying the President of the United States. The aircraft operates under the most stringent security protocols in American aviation.
Reagan National Airport sits just across the Potomac River from downtown Washington, D.C., making it one of the most security-sensitive airports in the country. All flights in and out operate under special flight rules designed to protect the White House, Capitol, and other critical government facilities.
The FAA has not yet released details about how close the two aircraft came to each other or what safety procedures may have failed. The investigation is ongoing.
This incident comes at a time when air-traffic control facilities nationwide are facing staffing shortages and aging equipment. Controllers managing the complex airspace around the nation’s capital work under enormous pressure to keep both commercial traffic and high-security government flights safely separated.
Questions are mounting about whether adequate safeguards are in place to prevent potentially catastrophic incidents involving presidential aircraft. The airspace around Washington requires split-second coordination between multiple control towers and security agencies.
Why It Matters
When the safety of our President’s aircraft is compromised, every American should be demanding answers. This isn’t about partisan politics — it’s about basic competence in protecting our commander-in-chief and the hardworking Americans flying commercial in and out of our nation’s capital. We trust these government agencies to keep our skies safe, and they need to tell us exactly what went wrong and how they’re fixing it.

I would investigate every Air Traffic Controller.
I would want to be absolutely positive none have turned to terrorism, name sure none have been brainwashed against America, it may sound stupid but in our world today everything should be investigated. Then you need to find out who was responsible, and what happened to cause
This grave mistake
