  • Jack Smith stands accused of spying on Republican lawmakers in a secret investigation called Arctic Frost.
  • A congressional committee claims Smith broke the Constitution to go after conservatives.
  • The latest allegations show federal power being used against political opponents.

A congressional committee dropped a bombshell report accusing special counsel Jack Smith of running an unconstitutional spying operation against Republican lawmakers.

The probe, code-named Arctic Frost, allegedly collected phone records and communications from sitting members of Congress without proper legal justification.

“The evidence shows that Smith and his team bypassed constitutional protections in their rush to target political opponents,” the committee report states.

Lawmakers on the panel say the investigation lacked proper warrants and crossed clear legal lines.

They claim the special counsel’s office treated Republican offices like criminal enterprises while ignoring basic Fourth Amendment requirements.

“This was not law enforcement. This was political surveillance,” one committee member told colleagues during a closed-door briefing.

The report details how investigators obtained phone metadata and location data from multiple Republican members without notifying them or seeking congressional approval.

Committee investigators found internal communications showing Smith’s team pushed the investigation forward despite warnings from career prosecutors about constitutional problems.

“We raised concerns about the scope of this investigation from the beginning,” a former Justice Department official told the panel.

The Arctic Frost codename appears throughout internal documents reviewed by the committee.

Lawmakers now want criminal referrals against Smith and his top deputies for what they call deliberate constitutional violations.

“These actions represent a direct assault on the separation of powers,” the committee concluded in its findings.

Republican members say the investigation was designed to intimidate conservative lawmakers and chill their ability to conduct oversight of federal agencies.

The report calls for new legislation to prevent future special counsels from targeting members of Congress without explicit approval from both the House and Senate.

Middle America understands that when federal power gets turned against elected representatives, regular citizens are next in line. This kind of political targeting destroys the trust that holds our system together.
