The German federal prosecutor’s office has indicted seven individuals accused of stockpiling weapons for Hamas.

Investigators say the group was planning attacks timed to coincide with the second anniversary of the October 7th massacre in Israel.

Officials believe the suspects were coordinating across multiple European countries to prepare for the strikes.

“The accused were in possession of firearms, explosives, and other dangerous materials intended for use in terrorist attacks,” prosecutors stated.

European authorities have been on high alert since the October 7th attacks that killed over 1,200 Israelis and took hundreds hostage.

Critics argue that lax border policies and weak counterterrorism measures allowed these plots to develop right under the noses of European governments.

“We must remain vigilant against those who seek to bring violence to our shores,” one senior German official said.
