Wyatt’s Take

  • Maine Democrat Jared Golden just sided with Trump against his own party on Canada tariffs — proving even some Democrats know when their side is wrong
  • Golden warned Canada it ‘won’t go well’ if they keep playing games with American workers and industries
  • This is what happens when a politician actually listens to working Americans instead of coastal elites and party bosses

A Democrat from Maine just did something almost unheard of in today’s lockstep liberal party. He stood up for American workers and backed President Trump.

Representative Jared Golden, who represents Maine’s 2nd Congressional District, broke ranks with his party to forcefully support Trump’s tough tariff stance against Canada. Golden didn’t mince words either.

The Maine lawmaker warned our neighbors to the north that things won’t end well if they keep taking advantage of American industries and workers. While most Democrats fall in line with whatever their leadership tells them, Golden actually looked at what’s best for the people he represents.

This is the kind of courage we need more of in Washington. Golden isn’t worried about what Nancy Pelosi thinks or whether he’ll get invited to the right cocktail parties.

He’s thinking about Maine families, American jobs, and fair trade. Trump’s tariff strategy is about leveling the playing field after decades of bad deals that shipped our jobs overseas and let other countries walk all over us.

Golden gets it. When you represent real working people instead of corporate donors and D.C. insiders, you understand that America First isn’t just a slogan. It’s about protecting American workers, American industries, and American interests.

The fact that this is newsworthy — that a Democrat would side with common sense trade policy — shows just how far the Democrat Party has drifted from working Americans.

Wyatt Matters

This is what it looks like when an elected official puts country before party. Golden isn’t playing political games while American workers get the short end of the stick. He’s standing up for fair trade and American jobs, even when it means bucking his own party. That’s the kind of representation hardworking families deserve.
