January 1, ALARMING: Cyber Attacks Hit Critical American Water Systems Across Multiple States

Wyatt’s Take
- Hackers targeted at least 9 water systems in Michigan and over 30 in Minnesota, with FBI confirming attacks spread across at least 5 additional states
- Our critical infrastructure is under attack while federal agencies play catch-up and Americans are left vulnerable
- This is exactly what happens when our leaders ignore national security and let adversaries probe our weaknesses unchecked
Cyber criminals are targeting the water supply systems that millions of American families depend on every single day. Michigan state officials confirmed that nine separate water systems across the state came under digital attack.
The FBI has received reports from at least five other states facing similar threats. Minnesota previously disclosed that more than 30 of its water systems were hit in what appears to be a coordinated assault on critical American infrastructure.
🚨 FBI PSA: Malicious Cyber Actors Targeting Water and Wastewater Sector PLCs

These attacks put drinking water safety at risk for communities across the heartland. Water treatment facilities control everything from chemical levels to pressure systems that deliver clean water to homes, schools, and hospitals.
Federal authorities are investigating, but the damage to public confidence has already been done. Hard-working Americans shouldn’t have to wonder if the water coming out of their taps is safe because Washington failed to protect our infrastructure.
The scale of these attacks suggests sophisticated actors testing our defenses. While politicians focus on politics, foreign adversaries and criminal networks are probing the systems that keep American communities running.
State and local water authorities are now racing to shore up their cybersecurity defenses. Many smaller systems lack the resources and technical expertise to fend off advanced digital threats.
Wyatt Matters
When foreign hackers can reach into American towns and mess with our water supply, that’s a national security failure of the highest order. Our families deserve leaders who put protecting critical infrastructure ahead of political games. This isn’t about left or right — it’s about keeping the basic necessities of American life safe from enemies who want to hurt us.

Why is our water supply even online for hackers to sabotage in the first place.our dependency on this internet could put a lot of lives at risk.

How do you get from utilities (stupidly) using internet-facing PLCs to our leaders ignoring national security?
Do you expect the feds to send out security teams to the some 148,000 public drinking water systems?

Our infrastructure should be a closed system and not hooked up to the global internet and have high security and not allow access to anyone other than those working on the system. They should only have access as needed. Don’t look for the politicians to do anything about it. I thank God for President Trump, he has done some good work for America, but I almost think it is too late. The radicals are putting stumbling blocks in the way of everything he is doing. we all have seen what he went through with the lying liberal democrats and yes, some republicans too. Now the communists and marxist are moving in on us. I never thought I would see the day when the people would vote them in. God help us. Our younger generations have all been brainwashed and the parents are totally clueless.
