Wyatt’s Take

  • NASCAR reinstated Daniel Dye effective immediately after his suspension for mocking driver David Malukas.
  • Dye says he is stepping away from Kaulig Racing to focus on his long-term goals in stock car racing.
  • The controversy began during a trading card livestream on the Whatnot app.

Daniel Dye is back in the good graces of NASCAR after a suspension for mocking a fellow driver. While the league cleared him to race, he currently finds himself without a seat behind the wheel.

The 21-year-old was a full-time driver in the Craftsman Truck Series before the incident led to his sidelining.

Now that he is eligible to compete again, he has to find a new team willing to take him on.

“I’m incredibly thankful for my time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and for the chance to compete with Kaulig Racing alongside some of the most passionate fans in motorsports. At this time, I am stepping away from that role,” wrote Dye.

Dye mentioned that he spent his time away engaged in self-reflection and seeking guidance from mentors.

He remains optimistic about getting another shot at the highest level of the sport.

“Now that I’m reinstated, I’m optimistic about what the future holds and look forward to working hard at my next opportunity,” the driver continued.
