A Pennsylvania teenager is behind bars after police say he ran a big online scheme targeting other kids. Investigators hit Zachariah Abraham Meyers, a senior at Peters Township High School, with over 300 felony charges.
Meyers is accused of using social media like TikTok and Snapchat to lure underage boys, pushing them into sending explicit images. Officers say he pretended to be someone else, even using photos of an adult film actress to trick his victims.
Police said, “Meyers was able to deceive and coerce juvenile males into sending explicit pornographic images and videos of themselves.” Evidence from Meyers’ phone reportedly backed up these claims.
Authorities identified at least 21 victims so far, interviewing 30 boys during their investigation. Meyers is being held without bail and is considered a flight risk by the court.
Even as the community deals with the shock, the local school district says police told them there’s no immediate threat to other students. “The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families remain our highest priority, and we appreciate all the efforts of the Peters Township Police in this matter.”
The district promises to keep working with police as the case unfolds. Meyers’ preliminary hearing is still pending.
