January 1, Democrats Change Voting Rules When They Lose
Wyatt’s Take
- Democrats talk about ‘defending democracy’ but keep trying to change the rules when they lose
- Voter ID laws and the Electoral College are under constant attack from the left
- Heavy use of legal action against political opponents sets a dangerous precedent
When the left claims to be the champions of democracy, it’s worth asking why they keep trying to pull the rug out from under voters. Instead of respecting the outcomes, they scramble to change the game every time things don’t go their way.
Take what’s happening in Texas. Instead of letting lawmakers do their job and redraw the district maps—something the courts and the Justice Department told them to do—over 50 Texas Democrats ran off to other states to avoid the vote. They say they’re doing it to ‘fight for Texans.’ According to one Democrat, ‘We’re not walking out on our responsibilities; we’re walking out on a rigged system.’ Yet, it looks a lot like refusing to let the process play out just because they might lose.
Even liberal governors are getting in on the act. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker said everything is ‘on the table’ to fight back. California Governor Gavin Newsom called it a ‘five-alarm fire.’ Funny how they call it that when their side isn’t winning.
Now look at voter ID laws. In Huntington Beach, folks voted to require ID before casting ballots—simple, common sense. But the same Governor Newsom, who loves to boast about democracy, swooped in and signed a law banning it. He even backed lawsuits against the people’s wishes. In fact, Democrats across the country are fighting voter ID, even though most Americans support it.
Then there’s all the lawfare against anyone who dares challenge the left. President Trump faced court cases from every angle, with Democrat prosecutors leading the charge. After decades of Democrats questioning elections, suddenly challenging a result lands you in a courtroom if you’re on the other side. District Attorney Alvin Bragg bragged about getting Trump, stacking up 34 charges over bookkeeping matters. The Justice Department under Biden kept dragging Trump into courtrooms for years. Meanwhile, Democrats never paid the price for their own objections in previous elections.
When Trump won using the system the founders gave us, Democrats demanded we get rid of the Electoral College. A bunch of left-wing senators hollered that national popular vote is the only way. But that would mean cities and coastal elites decide every election, leaving the heartland powerless.
Even the Supreme Court had to step in last year when leftist activists in states like Colorado, Maine, and Illinois tried to block Trump from even appearing on the ballot. The court unanimously ruled they had no authority. But it just shows: talk about democracy only goes so far with Democrats. They’re ready to boot an opponent off the ballot if it means keeping power.
Wyatt Matters
Out here in the heartland, we believe in letting the people decide. We believe in fair elections, simple ID rules, and the Constitution as written. Changing the rules every time you lose isn’t democracy—it’s just sour grapes. Middle America sees through the game. Let’s protect what makes our country free and fair, before it slips away for good.
