January 1, Congress Races to Finalize Major Bill by July

Folks, there’s a big rush in Congress right now to get a really important bill on President Trump’s desk by July 4th. They’re calling it the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” and the goal is to get it done by Friday. It’s a tight timeline, but they’re working hard to make it happen.
This bill is over 900 pages long and includes many of President Trump’s plans for spending and tax cuts. It passed in the House back in May, but some parts had to be changed because the Senate rules demanded they focus more on the budget. Democrats caused some delays, but our Republican senators have been pushing forward, working right through the weekend.
The Senate had to go through the whole bill, which took about 16 hours to read out loud. Now they’re voting on a lot of changes, and it’s taking all day. A final vote might happen late at night.
If the Senate gets it done, the House will be ready to take their turn. They have to vote on it too, but Speaker Mike Johnson from Louisiana said they’ll give everyone three days to look over the bill first, just like they always do. This means it might take a bit longer, maybe even past Independence Day.
By Friday, we should know the outcome. It’s still unsure because there’s a lot of talking and negotiating happening. If anything changes last minute, both the Senate and the House will have to agree on it again.
President Trump, though, is feeling positive. He posted on Truth Social saying everything is moving along nicely. Let’s hope this bill gets passed so we can Make America Great Again!
Wyatt Matters!
Congress is working hard on an important new bill that they want to finish by July 4th. They are calling it the “One Big, Beautiful Bill.” This bill is very long, more than 900 pages, and includes plans for spending and tax cuts. The House of Representatives already passed it in May, but the Senate had to make some changes to focus on the budget. Even though there were some delays, our senators have been working nonstop to push it forward.
Reading the whole bill took a long time—16 hours! Now, the Senate is busy voting on different changes to the bill, and it’s taking all day. If they finish in time, the House of Representatives will also need to vote on it. Speaker Mike Johnson said they will give everyone three days to read it before they vote. This step is important so that everyone knows exactly what’s in the bill.
The goal is for Congress to finish by Friday, but it might take until after Independence Day if more changes are needed. Still, President Trump is feeling good about the progress and hopes the bill will pass. This bill is part of the plan to Make America Great Again, and everyone is eager to see what happens next!

Don’t think the richest people in America need to have tax breaks based and paid for by working class families. The last time Trump was in office it my wife an I, whom both of us are retired educators, about $4000 more in taxes. We are on a fixed income and we are paying more in taxes? Doesn’t set well with us when the richest are getting billions in tax breaks. Will someone with common sense and enough guts please help people like my wife and I?

If Republican representatives are not man/woman enough to remove funding of medicaid to illegal aliens, defund planned parenthood, codify the DOGE cuts into law, remove the 1 trillion in spending the Senate added to the bill in mark-up and, in general, put America First…if the house can’t do that, just kill the bill and start again. I don’t like being told we have to take the manure to get the steak when we threw away 300 billion in the Ukraine war and no telling how much over the years fighting wars for Israel with no end in sight.

Frankly, the POC the senate voted for and sent back to the house, should not even be brought up for a vote, PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL the senate knows how to do is SPEND, SPEND, and SPEND some more, as apparently agreed with by the repukicants!!!!!
Then there is the promise – NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY that was immediately broken and removed by the repukicants. Being 82 and having to pay ungodly amounts of taxes on money to which had already been taxed is obscene. Thought just maybe there might be relief in sight, but NO the repukicants just went along and continue with the garbage law instituted by the libtards many years ago!!!!!!
