January 1, Senator Targets Birth Tourism with Bold New Bill

Senator Marsha Blackburn, who’s a Republican from Tennessee, is really stepping up to protect our country. She’s introduced a new law called the “Ban Birth Tourism” act. This is to stop certain folks from coming to the USA just to have a baby here, and it’s about time we handle this issue!

See, some foreign groups, especially from places like China and Russia, are making big bucks from what they call birth tourism. They take advantage of our rules, letting anyone who’s born here become a U.S. citizen. Blackburn says these groups are setting up pregnant women with places to stay in America just so their babies can be born here and get a U.S. birth certificate. And guess what? Once that kid hits 21, they can start bringing their family over too. That’s not right!

This bill is important because it makes sure people can’t just buy American citizenship for their kids. Blackburn wants to make sure America isn’t being used by foreign nationals, especially those from countries that aren’t our friends, to exploit our immigration laws.

Her bill drops in just as the Supreme Court is looking into President Trump’s order to stop birthright citizenship for kids born here if their parents aren’t citizens or permanent residents. Trump has been clear about this problem on Truth Social, saying America is the only place that lets this happen and it’s just not fair.

Also, Rep. Brian Babin from Texas is fighting this fight too. He put forward his own bill in the House to end birthright citizenship. His bill wants to close these loopholes and make sure our immigration laws are strong and fair. We’ve gotta keep America safe and not let people take advantage of our kindness!
