President Zelensky made it clear that Ukraine will not hand over any territory to Russia, no matter what kind of deal is discussed between Trump and Putin. Trump’s remarks about potentially swapping land as part of peace talks aren’t sitting well with Ukraine.

Ukraine “will not give Russia any awards for what it has done,” Zelensky said.

“Ukrainians will not give their land to the occupier.”

After news broke about an upcoming Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska, Zelensky posted a video statement.

“Ukraine is ready for real decisions that can bring peace. Any decisions that are against us, any decisions that are without Ukraine, are at the same time decisions against peace,” his post said.

“They will not achieve anything. These are stillborn decisions. They are unworkable decisions. And we all need real and genuine peace. Peace that people will respect.”
