January 1, Vance Demands Walz Resign Over Minnesota Fraud
Wyatt’s Take
- JD Vance called for Gov. Walz to step down, blaming him for fraud in Minneapolis.
- Vance said Walz either knew about scams or ignored them, hurting honest Minnesotans.
- Whistleblowers and state workers have warned about these issues for years.
Vice President JD Vance said Governor Tim Walz should quit, arguing Walz either knew about or purposely ignored welfare scams in Minnesota.
“I think Tim Walz should resign because it’s very clear either that he knew about the fraud in Minneapolis, he knew about welfare fraud, or at the very least, he looked the other way,” Vance stated.
He cited a video showing daycare fraud linked to the “Quality Learing Center,” where the center didn’t have real children but kept collecting funds.
“This is, ‘We’re going to take kids, or, sorry, we’re going to take the absence of kids and set up a daycare center where there are no children, and we’re going to call our early childhood education center the Quality Learing Center,’” Vance explained.
Vance noted, “By the way, if you can’t spell learning, maybe you shouldn’t be in early childhood education, but people got rich off of this. We know that there were schools who either had no enrollment, or at least they overstated their enrollment.”
He said Walz was either “incompetent or engaging in fraud himself,” adding, “That’s one of the things we’re going to get to the bottom of.”
At a recent House hearing, Rep. Marion Rarick said Democrat leaders in Minnesota silenced hundreds of auditors trying to investigate fraud, especially in Somali-run businesses.
“They don’t want a fraud unit to do anything — they want a fraud unit [only] on paper,” explained Minnesota fraud investigator Steve Halicki.
In 2023, a group of state employees warned the public about fraud, writing, “We are over 480 Minnesota state staff serving with pride & commitment to our people & state. We strive for a better Minnesota free of fraud. Commentary Account.”
The group added, “Few understood or listened to the scale of the problem. Systemic issues mean that someone in leadership is advising or forcing staff to commit wrongdoing. And these leaders will be NAMED.”
Vance wrapped up by calling Walz a “joke” for letting these problems grow.

I’m shocked that the people of Minnesota have known about this fraud for years and nothing has been done about it. Makes you wonder what kind of people live in Minnesota. They just don’t care and apparently are protecting the illegals as they are being robbed blind. Makes no sense to me. If Walz resigns now does that mean he’s off the hook because he’s no longer governor and no accountability? As his wife says “It’s time to turn the page!” whatever that means. Let him stay in office and prosecute him while he’s still governor.
