Utah’s governor has pledged to go after the harshest punishment for the man who killed conservative voice Charlie Kirk. He urged everyday Americans to keep their eyes open and report anything they see that could help catch the suspect.

The urgent press conference began late as police scrambled to keep up with developments. Officials showed footage of the suspect fleeing—escaping by climbing down a building right after the shooting.

“Due to the rapid developments in our investigation, we will suspend this,” the Utah Department of Public Safety announced via email.

Police asked the public to study the suspect’s clothing and share any digital tips or video evidence from the Wednesday night shooting at Utah Valley University. Authorities had already interviewed over 200 people and received thousands of tips, more than any case since the Boston Marathon bombing.

The suspect was last seen in an American flag shirt and sunglasses. Law enforcement called him someone able to “blend in” on the college campus. The FBI has put up a six-figure reward for answers.

Officials confirmed the attack appeared targeted, with shots reportedly fired from a roof down onto the courtyard event. Police said keeping some details quiet will help the ongoing investigation.

If you have a tip, authorities want to hear from you. Stay alert, stay involved, and help bring justice home.
