January 1, Trump’s Education Reform Sparks Controversy and Hope

Folks, there’s a lot of noise out there about what President Trump is doing with the U.S. Department of Education. Some people are saying things that just aren’t true. They’re getting all worked up, saying schools won’t be able to teach kids properly. But let’s calm down and look at the facts.
The big bosses in the teachers’ unions, like Randi Weingarten from the American Federation for Teachers, are really upset. Remember, this is the same Weingarten who kept schools closed longer than they should have been. Now, because of Trump’s decision, they’re filing lawsuits to keep things exactly the way they’ve always been, even though schools aren’t doing a great job teaching kids basic reading and math.
We’re hearing from folks like John B. King Jr, who was in charge of education during Obama’s time. He keeps talking about how worried he is, as if that helps anyone. But don’t let the fear take over.
President Trump assured us that important programs for kids with disabilities and special needs will still have funding. These programs are just moving to different places, like the Department of Health and Human Services, where they might even get better attention.
What are we getting rid of? The billions wasted on pushing ideas that don’t belong in schools, like radical gender theories and Critical Race Theory, which don’t help our kids learn properly. President Trump is also making sure that we cut down on bureaucracy, which means more local control and decisions being made closer to home.
By closing down parts of the big government office in Washington and sending power back to the states, we’re giving parents and teachers closer to home a bigger say in how kids are taught. This means better teaching and more accountability.
President Trump is making a good move here. It’s time we try something different because what we’ve been doing hasn’t been working. This change is about better educating our kids and keeping things local. So don’t believe all the scary stories. This is a step in the right direction for our country’s future.
Wyatt Matters!
Some folks are saying lots of things about President Trump and the changes to the U.S. Department of Education, but let’s try to focus on what really matters. There’s a lot of fuss because some people are worried about how schools will teach kids. But instead of getting upset, we should pay attention to what these changes actually mean. The changes are trying to make education better, especially since schools have been struggling to teach kids important things like reading and math.
There’s a lot of talk from teachers’ unions and people who were in charge before, saying they’re worried about these changes. But we shouldn’t let fears take over. President Trump has made sure that important programs for kids with special needs will still have funding. These changes aim to place these programs where they might get even better attention, and that’s a good thing. The goal is to stop spending money on things that don’t help kids learn, like complicated theories, and instead focus on what kids really need.
This plan also gives more power to the people closer to home, like parents and teachers, to decide what’s best for the kids. By doing this, there’s a promise of better teaching and more responsibility. It’s not about making things scary; it’s about trying something new that could really work for our kids. Keeping education local and making sure parents and teachers have a say can lead to better learning. Let’s give this change a chance because it might just be what our schools need to help kids succeed.

It’s pretty obvious that what schools are teaching, the little they are, isn’t working. I personally know some 18 year old people who can’t write their names in cursive, nor can they do simple addition and subtraction without using a calculator. I can understand young people not knowing where Djibouti, Africa is but when they don’t know where England is we have a problem. Many young people don’t even know the countries in Great Britain. I seriously doubt if many of them know all the state capitals in the U. S. And teachers yell about how little they’re being paid. If they were teaching the youth of this country common sense subjects then maybe I would agree with them but when they are teaching young boys and girls that they can be whatever sex they want to be or they can be an animal if they want to then there is definitely something wrong.

I agree. I watch Johnny Belisario on Fox’s Jesse Watters where he randomly interviews college kids on vacation. He asks very basic questions that an elementary kid should know. It’s very disturbing how little they know about basic American knowledge like who was the first president of the United States. Their answers are nowhere close. They’re just as bad at several other easy questions that shouldn’t take much thought. Every once in a while, there’s a “brainiac” who actually gets it right. It’s disturbing that these kids made it to college and are totally clueless. Dumbing down kids has been the goal of the leftists – stupid people are easier to control. Fortunately my 14-year old granddaughter has gone through elementary and middle school in TN that actually educates “old school”. She’s been a straight A and often an honor roll student. She also has been involved in the STEM educational system. She starts high school next year, so hopefully her quality education will continue. She’s been in cheerleading since 4th grade, Girl Scouts, 4-H. She has a good attitude and is very kind-hearted and compassionate yet still a normal teenager. I look at the teenagers on the news and thank the Lord that she lives in a different and healthy environment.

Even if teachers were paid more, nothing would change until the parents attitudes change. I’ve had parents come in to my classroom claiming I was expecting their child to learn too much, and they refused to let the child finish what he didn’t do in school that day as homework that night. I’ve had other parents come in and say I wasn’t expecting enough out of the kids, and I was too easy on them, and teaching them to be wimps. This was all in the SAME school!!!
That was back a few years ago, now I would get fired because I refuse to do all the stuff they have come up with now. I private tutor to fix classroom “mistakes”.

For far too long, the extremely left-wing Teachers Union has been in control and education has been replaced with indoctrination. President Trump is cleaning up that “Swamp” and the National Union teachers are required to join is a significant part of the Swamp. Trump is trying to give states more power to regulate what’s taught in schools and he is absolutely right. State level and more parental say will improve education greatly.

The historical record is clear. After teachers unionized in the 1930’s and education became an “industry,” the quality of instruction in American public schools began an inexorable decline. The smaller the school district, school, and class size, and the tighter the local control, the better the results. The DOE is an obstacle, not a helper.

Stick to the basics first. If a child excels in school he/she should be encouraged to continue the education course. If a child excels or is more interested in the trades, then they should be encouraged to follow that course. Get rid of the outside bullshit and educate, do not indoctrinate.

Teach old school arithmetic and reading. Teach sounds of letters and combinations. Teach memorizing of addition and times tables to 12 etc. It is amazing what understanding of counting numbers and their relationships to life are. I keep hearing their is no relationship of algebra and life. But if you take algebra and pass it, life will be simpler as you will see relationships of all things easier. When they started teaching “new” math, I and others kept “old” math memorizing in place. Our kids did better overall. No calculators until basic tables memorized. Counting on fingers got better results. The last person I tutored in algebra after retiring, was getting a “d” before I pushed for memorizing addition and multiplication tables. Mom of student asked what she could do and I said quiz him daily at breakfast and dinner. Guess what. He understood what to do on word problems and how to solve equations, but was too slow because he was allowed to use calculator on 10=6. ouch. He finished with “B” in the class.

Teacher’s unions are a BIG part of the problem. They advocate ideas and programs that are not focused on learning, but on social restructuring. State Educators and their boards are often run by people who have not been in the classroom for many years. Tests only prove which students are good at test taking, not mastery of the subject. Let qualified teachers actually teach their subjects and be evaluated by their principals. Local education should be controlled by local people!

The main reason Weingarden is losing her crap is because of the massive fraud that the Dept of Education, the school districts, and the property assessment offices are guilty of absolutely massive bond fraud. They are all bankrupt and have been for years. They are fighting being exposed for all their illegal activities in keeping the fraud going.
