Wyatt’s Take

  • Dan Bishop has been chosen by President Trump for U.S. attorney in North Carolina.
  • Bishop is known for fighting bias and standing against left-wing legal schemes.
  • He vows to restore fairness and tackle abuses in the justice system.

President Trump is picking Dan Bishop to serve as U.S. attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina. Bishop could start soon, pending Senate confirmation, and is seen as a strong conservative choice.

Bishop held top spots in Congress and at the Office of Management and Budget. He has stood firm against what he calls political abuse in the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division.

Bishop, along with Justice official Harmeet Dhillon, has criticized the division for targeting conservatives and pushing left-wing causes. “CRD also whipsaws municipal police and jails and school systems with pattern and practice investigations — stymying disciplinary and enforcement practices in some and condemning the chaos resulting from disciplinary neglect in others,” he wrote.

He pointed out how the DOJ cracks down hard on pro-life Americans but shows little action against crimes targeting pregnancy centers. Bishop also slammed government pressure on social media companies to censor speech about the 2020 election and pandemic issues.

As a member of Congress, Bishop helped investigate what he saw as Biden administration abuses—especially labeling parents critical of school policies as “domestic terrorists.”

Bishop built a long legal and public service career, winning awards and serving on key committees. He was born and raised in North Carolina, with deep roots in his community, and his family is also dedicated to law and public service.

If confirmed, Bishop will oversee all federal law enforcement efforts for the region, aiming to uphold justice and put the people’s interests first.
