Wyatt’s Take

  • Trump labeled Venezuela a foreign terrorist group.
  • The U.S. ordered a full blockade of Venezuelan oil tankers.
  • Military and sanctions are stepping up pressure on Maduro’s regime.

President Trump has declared Venezuela’s government a “foreign terrorist organization.” He has also directed a total blockade of all oil tankers moving to and from the country.

“Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled in the History of South America,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before.”

Recent U.S. moves include tough new sanctions on Venezuela’s oil sector and Maduro’s family. American forces have also attacked boats they say were smuggling drugs out of Venezuela.

Trump accused the regime of running on “stolen” oil profits and supporting crimes like terrorism, human trafficking, and kidnapping.

“For the theft of our assets, and many other reasons, including Terrorism, Drug Smuggling, and Human Trafficking, the Venezuelan Regime has been designated a foreign terrorist organization,” he said. “Therefore, today, I am ordering a total and complete blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers going into, and out of, Venezuela.”

He demanded the return of “oil, land, and other assets” that he says were taken from the United States.

Trump said operations against drug traffickers linked to Venezuela will grow bigger and go onto land soon.
