Wyatt’s Take

  • Trump rejects claims prosecutions are payback
  • Charges brought against Comey, Bolton, James
  • Trump says DOJ just doing its job

President Trump flat-out denied that cases against his critics are revenge, saying the courts acted because the accused were corrupt. In a new interview, he insisted the Justice Department had clear reasons behind each prosecution.

Trump pointed out he was indicted first and called himself innocent, telling CBS, “And here I am, because I was able to beat all of the nonsense that was thrown at me.”

He labeled former FBI chief James Comey, national security adviser John Bolton, and AG Letitia James as dishonest, calling them “scum” and “crooked.”

Comey faces charges for giving false statements to Congress. Bolton has been charged with leaking national defense secrets. James stands accused of making a false claim about her primary residence on a Virginia mortgage.

Each has denied all wrongdoing.

Trump said he gave no orders to prosecute anyone, explaining that honest officials “go after them automatically” if the evidence lines up.

Like someone just said, they kept saying that no one is above the law. They just wasn’t talking about themselves. They ment all of us. Now they are being held accountable and are crying foul. They are an extremely pathetic group.
