After years of heartbreak, Israel is finally getting its last living hostages back from Gaza as part of a bold, U.S.-brokered deal led by President Trump.

This swap marks a huge shift in the region after the devastation of the 2023 attacks.

The first seven hostages were freed early this morning, and the rest are expected to be safely back by noon local time.

Israel agreed to swap them for around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, including hundreds with long sentences.

Folks gathered in Tel Aviv’s Hostage Square cheered when news broke that the captives were finally released to the Red Cross.

President Trump touched down in Israel to a warm welcome.

He told Israeli lawmakers at the Knesset,

“This is my great honor — a great and beautiful day. A new beginning.”

Israeli leaders met with Egyptian officials today, furthering hopes for peace in a tense region.

Families are reuniting and looking forward to a visit from President Trump, who will meet with them at the medical center.

The deal only became reality after years of uncertainty, pain, and prayers on both sides of the border.

Full list of hostages released includes Ohel Alon, Angrest Matan, Berman Gali, Berman Ziv, Gilboa-Dalal Guy, Mor Eitan, and Miran Omri.

Stay tuned for more details and what it means for Israeli and Middle American families hoping for peace and security in a restless world.
