Wyatt’s Take

  • Special prosecutor targets high-profile Democrats for alleged mortgage fraud.
  • Schiff and James both deny any wrongdoing.
  • Grand jury looking into New York AG’s actions during heated election year.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has put a special prosecutor on the case to dig into possible mortgage fraud by Sen. Adam Schiff and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Former acting U.S. Attorney Ed Martin will handle the investigation, looking at possible bank and wire fraud that could mean serious prison time if proven.

“Attorney General Bondi and President Trump have given me a very serious and mission,” said Martin. “For months DOJ and the FBI have been working on these two cases, it is my job to stick the landing.”

Schiff is accused of claiming a Maryland home as his main residence to get a cheaper loan, even though he’s had a house in California, too. Trump brought attention to these accusations last month on Truth Social, saying Fannie Mae’s watchdog found possible fraud going back years.

A spokesperson for Schiff’s campaign pushed back, saying both addresses were used as primary because they get lived in the whole year and the distinction was just to keep them from being labeled vacation homes.

Letitia James has her own trouble, with the Housing Director sending a criminal referral saying she’s been accused of faking records to get better loan terms on a Virginia property while working in New York. The timing is raising eyebrows since it happened just before she launched a major case against Trump’s company.

James has also denied any wrongdoing. On top of all this, a grand jury is now reviewing her actions related to legal battles against Trump in the run-up to the 2024 election.

If you’re tired of political elites playing by their own rules, keep an eye on this story as it develops.
