A Texas mother now faces capital murder charges after allegedly shooting her two sons inside their Waxahachie home early Thursday morning.
Ellis County deputies responded to an unknown emergency call just before 4:15 a.m. on Big Sky Drive.
Colleen Nichole Lemmon, 42, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of capital murder, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Deputies found two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds inside the residence.
Christopher Scott Pitre, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, a 15-year-old boy, was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.
Deputies also discovered Lemmon with non-life-threatening injuries.
Evidence gathered at the scene gave officers probable cause to believe Lemmon had shot both of her children.
Deputies found her covered in blood with what appeared to be self-inflicted lacerations on her wrists and a handgun nearby.
Lemmon allegedly told officers, “I shot both my kids.”
She was arrested and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Scott Pitre, the boys’ father, told reporters that his younger son had recently celebrated his 15th birthday and said he wants justice for his sons.
Neighbor Ida Brown called the killings heartbreaking and said she is praying for the family.
Sheriff Brad Norman offered condolences to the victims’ father and loved ones, stating they remain in the prayers of law enforcement during this difficult time.
Lemmon is being held on a $2.5 million bond.

First it was…my body, my choice…to abort millions of babies so women could be like men and have sex with any guy they met without penalty. Then it was abortions up to birth where babies are left to die on a cold gurney in a darkened room. Then we’re it told that post partum issues and “voices” told “a wonderful, kind and loving mother” to kill her 3 children…mom who had a nanny, housekeeper, a husband who worked at home to help out and parents who live nearby…but the system failed her. She’s also an ob/gyn nurse, so she’s very familiar with post partum problems. Then, there’s mom who shot her son in the face so her ex could never have a chance to see him. Now this.
No consequences for mommy dearest #1, Lindsay Clancy, and its spreading faster than wild fires in California. Women have lost their way. Feminism is the worst thing that EVER happened to women. It turned them from nurturing, loving moms into one-night-stand skanks who use abortions as birth control and call fetuses “clumps of cells” or “parasites” to ease their guilty conscience. What a horrible world we live in where this is even an issue. I pray they repent and seek God’s forgiveness.

Soglad2beright is so right! Feminism has ruined women around the world. Except for the Muslim women who are treated like subhuman beings. Muslim men treat their women worse than they treat their dogs. This woman will probably get some slick attorney like Reddington who has no conscience and he’ll find some way to get her off. Forget about the victims and deflect to some insanity plea. Of course she’s insane because any normal human being could not kill another, especially her children, unless she was insane. You know, it’s not easy to kill another person unless it’s self defense, and even then someone who has killed somebody else in fear of their life still has to live with the fact that they took another human life and it will haunt them forever. Having counseled people through this before has shown me that only an evil person can kill another without any remorse.
