Wyatt’s Take

  • 10 million Americans bracing for severe storms in the Southeast.
  • Damaging winds and hail are the main threats.
  • Much colder weather follows, pushing temperatures to the 30s in some cities.

Rough weather is rolling across the South as the weekend continues, marking the return of severe storm season.

Sunday brings the highest risk, with more than 10 million folks from Virginia to Florida facing threats like high winds and hail.

Storms that swept through the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys on Friday faded by Saturday morning, but strong weather will return Sunday as a new cold front moves in.

This front is bringing arctic air, which may set new records and drop temperatures down into the 30s for parts of the Southeast, including Atlanta and Jackson.

Even after tornado watches and damaging winds last week, there was no confirmed tornado in Tennessee.

Stay alert and make sure your family is ready for sudden changes in the weather.
