January 1, Senate Candidate Suspended Over Tweet About Trans Athletes
Twitter suspended Missouri Senate candidate Vicky Hartzler over a tweet about trans athletes.
“Women’s sports are for women, not men pretending to be women,” Hartzler tweeted last month.
The social media platform suspended Hartzler’s account for violating their rules against “hateful conduct.”
Twitter informed Hartzler that she’s unable to post or interact with posts until she deletes the tweet.
A statement from Hartzler’s campaign called the suspension “shameful, utterly ridiculous, and a horrible abuse of censorship by big tech giants to stifle free speech.”
The campaign said Hartzler has no plans to delete the tweet.
