January 1, Schumer’s Complaint Over Trump Interview Sparks Backlash
Wyatt’s Take
- Chuck Schumer hinted he could file an FCC complaint about Trump’s 60 Minutes interview edit.
- White House and Republicans called out Schumer for hypocrisy and political theater.
- Americans were reminded politicians use government processes to score points, not help working families.
Chuck Schumer claimed he might take a page from Trump’s own playbook and complain to the FCC over edits to the president’s recent 60 Minutes interview.
He suggested he’d use “the exact same language” Trump used in a complaint about Kamala Harris’ earlier sit-down, posted publicly on X.
Maybe I should file a complaint with the FCC against the Trump White House for editing his unhinged 60 Minutes interview.
It will use the exact same language Trump lodged against Vice President Harris.

The president’s rapid response team fired back, calling Schumer’s idea “not the same thing.”
They deceptively edited Kamala’s answers to make her look somewhat coherent ahead of an election, you moron — then wouldn’t release the transcript/unedited interview.
That’s not the same as editing for time constraints (AND the transcript/unedited interview were both released). https://t.co/O9sydtk0Br

Critics reminded Schumer that CBS slowed the release of Harris’ full transcript and unedited interview, while Trump’s was aired and published in full right away.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr pointed out the shutdown led by Schumer was blocking any complaint from being processed in the first place.
Due to the Schumer Shutdown, even your frivolous filing could not be processed by the FCC.
But seriously, you should end the Schumer Shutdown-which is imposing real pain on American families-rather than nonsense posting.
You should open the government, rather than using… https://t.co/bMzDPQNdVo

Republican lawmakers piled on, telling Schumer to focus on opening the government instead of stirring up more distractions.
Maybe you should stop posting nonsense at 1:19AM in the morning and open the government. https://t.co/ryUL6Jwztv pic.twitter.com/QQKxktFXPw

Other voices added Democrats should help working Americans instead of blocking solutions in Congress. Middle America wants leadership, not more excuses from Washington insiders. Stay tuned, stand strong, watch those who claim to represent you.
Wyatt Matters
If politicians cared more about folks at home and less about their squabbles, maybe we’d see real change. Heartland families don’t need another show—they need leaders who get things done.
