Wyatt’s Take

  • A school board member in Mesa is tied to emails sympathetic toward a sex offender using the girls’ bathroom.
  • The school board refuses to condemn the member’s actions or statements.
  • Parents are left uneasy and upset about the school’s handling of these troubling connections.

Parents in Mesa are concerned after a local school board member reportedly exchanged sympathetic emails with a sex offender who had access to the girls’ bathroom. The board has not addressed or condemned the member’s involvement, causing frustration among families.

Community members are speaking out, questioning why the school board hasn’t stepped in. Many worry about the safety and well-being of the students and want more accountability from school leaders.

Some parents say the lack of action shows the system is out of touch with real family concerns. Others are calling for more transparency and stronger protections in school policies moving forward.

If this story matters to you, share it with others and make your voice heard at the next school board meeting.

We, as a society have allowed ourselves to be in a bad place. High cost housing (which is due to a whole ‘nother list of factors), single parent homes, out of control debt, and other factors have backed us into a corner where too few can, or is willing to teach and care for our children. So we turn that over to schools which are worse than failing. No wonder the education system (which is no longer about education) sneers at us with disdain. Too few of us have the courage to not submit our children to their lunacy. In almost any other endeavor, build or buy a house, buy a car, shop for groceries, watch TV, … you name it, you don’t have to put up with the abuse we allow for our kids. There are easy to understand reasons schools, teacher unions, etc, oppose home schooling, charter schools, on-line education. These are viable options. And they are far easier than we are lead to believe. The only thing we have to lose is our children if we do nothing.
