January 1, SCANDAL: Senate Panel Clears Disgraced Democrat After Bombshell Allegations Surface

Wyatt’s Take
- Senate Ethics Committee sweeps serious misconduct allegations under the rug — protecting one of their own yet again
- Florida Congresswoman exposed disturbing pattern of behavior, committee chose to look the other way
- Democrats circle the wagons when facing accountability — same playbook, different scandal
The Senate Ethics Committee has dismissed a formal complaint against Arizona Democrat Senator Ruben Gallego, allegations that included unwanted sexual advances toward multiple women and campaign finance violations. The complaint was filed by Florida Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna, but the panel decided not to pursue the matter further, according to a letter released by Gallego’s office.
The dismissal raises serious questions about the Senate’s willingness to hold its members accountable. Luna’s complaint detailed troubling allegations that would have ended most political careers — but in Washington’s swamp, party protection apparently trumps basic standards of conduct.
I have now heard of 4 women who have had multiple and uncomfortable/inappropriate advances/comments/touching, etc. from Senator Gallego. This is not made up and the Senate is being awfully quiet about it. https://t.co/LcYivkWHwC

The dismissal by the Ethics Committee reaffirms what I have said about these accusations from the beginning: they were right-wing conspiracies peddled by far-right activists like Anna Paulina Luna, the White House, and their allies.
I look forward to an apology from Rep. Luna…

Gallego, who represents Arizona in the Senate, faced accusations that painted a disturbing picture of behavior toward women. The complaint also alleged violations of campaign finance laws, suggesting potential legal violations beyond the misconduct claims.
“The Senate Ethics Committee has completed its review and dismissed the complaint,” according to the statement from Gallego’s office.
The quick dismissal follows a familiar pattern in Washington. When Democrats face serious allegations, the institutional machinery springs into action — not to investigate thoroughly, but to protect and insulate. The contrast with how Republicans are treated couldn’t be starker.
Representative Luna, a combat veteran and rising conservative voice, brought forward allegations that deserved a full and transparent investigation. Instead, the Senate’s ethics gatekeepers chose the path of least resistance — sweep it under the rug and hope Middle America stops paying attention.
The committee provided no detailed explanation for its decision to dismiss the complaint. No public hearing, no testimony from alleged victims, no accountability for a sitting senator accused of predatory behavior toward women.
This isn’t just about one senator or one complaint. It’s about a system that protects the powerful while ordinary Americans face consequences for far lesser offenses. It’s about institutional corruption that runs so deep, even credible allegations of sexual misconduct get buried in committee.
Gallego’s office celebrated the dismissal as vindication, but working Americans see it differently. They see a rigged system where the rules apply to some but not to others. They see Washington protecting its own while lecturing the rest of us about accountability and justice.
The allegations against Gallego involved multiple women, according to Luna’s original complaint. Each of those women deserved to have their claims heard and investigated properly. Instead, they got a bureaucratic brush-off from a committee more interested in protecting Senate Democrats than protecting potential victims.
Wyatt Matters
This dismissal is exactly why Americans have lost faith in Washington institutions. When serious allegations surface against powerful Democrats, the system closes ranks and makes them disappear. Meanwhile, hardworking folks face the full weight of accountability for far less. The double standard isn’t just frustrating — it’s a betrayal of basic fairness that built this country.
