Wyatt’s Take

  • Rubio tells Europe the U.S. won’t abandon its allies.
  • He warns national security is about defending our way of life.
  • Rubio stands firm on tough Russia policies.

America’s top diplomat went to Munich and told Europe what we already know: we stand or fall together. Rubio said the U.S. and Europe share deep roots, and it’s about more than politics—it’s defending civilization itself.

He said

“Armies fight for a people; armies fight for a nation. Armies fight for a way of life.”

“And that is what we are defending: a great civilization…”

Rubio credited Europe for planting the seeds of liberty that helped create America and said Western nations are united by culture, faith, and sacrifice.

Rubio admitted the situation in Ukraine is still tough and unclear.

“We don’t know if the Russians are serious about ending the war.”

He noted some progress because talks are happening.

The U.S. hit Russian oil with new sanctions and got India to stop buying it.

“What we can’t answer — but we’re going to continue to test — is whether there is an outcome that Ukraine can live with and that Russia will accept.”

Rubio added that uncertainty remains.

He ended with a call for allies to be stronger and proud.

“We want allies who can defend themselves so that no adversary will ever be tempted to test our collective strength. This is why we do not want our allies to be shackled by guilt and shame.”

“We want allies who are proud of their culture…”

America needs strong friends, and we won’t let history or our values fade away. It’s about holding the line—for our country and our kids.

It seems, however, that these values have been abandoned for “emotional rightness” and “political correctness.” Anymore, as a nation, we have no idea where we stand; we’re so completely fragmented that it’s possibly beyond repair or recovery (and this describes The West as a whole)!
