January 1, Republicans Push Bold Plan for Congressional Term Limits

Hey there, friends! I’ve got some exciting news straight out of Washington, D.C. Our very own Senator Ted Cruz from Texas is leading a team of bold Republicans with a big plan. They’ve come together to propose a change that would bring term limits to Congress.

Here’s what they’re looking to do: U.S. senators would be able to serve only two six-year terms, and members of the U.S. House could serve just three two-year terms. That means no more career politicians hanging around forever!

Senator Cruz, who knows a thing or two about D.C., says this change could fix what’s wrong with Washington. He believes our Founding Fathers wanted people to serve their country for a little while and then head back home, not stick around and let special interests take charge. Term limits could make these folks more responsible to us, the American people.

Joining Cruz in this effort are several Republican senators, like Mike Lee from Utah, Rick Scott from Florida, and Rand Paul from Kentucky, to name a few. Congressman Ralph Norman from South Carolina is also in on this, bringing the idea to the House. He says serving in Congress should be about helping the country, not a lifelong job.

This isn’t the first time Sen. Cruz has fought for term limits; he’s tried before in 2017, 2019, 2021, and even earlier this year. And he’s got other big ideas, too, like ending birthright citizenship.

Now, changing the Constitution isn’t easy. It needs a big yes from two-thirds of both the U.S. House and Senate. Then, three-fourths of the states have to agree. That’s 38 states out of the 50!

But with leaders like Senator Cruz and his team, anything is possible. Let’s keep our eyes on this folks, because it could mean big changes for how our government works!

Stay tuned, and we’ll see how this one unfolds!

Imagine if your classroom changed teachers every few years. It would keep things fresh and exciting, right? Well, that’s kind of what some people want to do in Washington, D.C. The idea is to have new faces turning up in Congress more often, just like getting a new teacher. This change means senators would only serve two terms, and House members just three. Some believe this could stop people from staying in Congress for a long time and getting too comfortable. With new lawmakers coming in, they’ll bring fresh ideas and focus more on what people want.

Many believe this was what the Founding Fathers wanted. They thought people should help their country for a while and then return to their homes and regular lives. Having term limits could mean that senators and congresspeople need to listen and act for the people, not for special groups that might want to take over. Some leaders, like Senator Cruz and his team, think this could make the government more about serving the people, not being about politics forever.

Changing the Constitution is not simple—it takes a lot of agreement, and it’s like getting a giant puzzle to fit together. Senator Cruz has introduced this idea before, and even though it hasn’t happened yet, he’s not giving up. He’s back with supporters, hoping this time will be different. It’s interesting to think about what this could mean for our country and how our leaders work for us. Watching leaders try to change things can inspire us to think big about how our democracy could improve.

Some ARE serving the people rather than themselves, so how about a questionnaire that determines whether or not they HAVE been serving the people. When you have a humble competent server, you will benefit from their symbiotic expertise. Only get rid of the parasites. Set term limits are not freedom. $1 annual salary would work better than set term limits.

I’ve been talking about problems with career politicians. It has been obvious that they have been getting extremely rich due to insider trading and kickbacks from special interest and Countries paying politicians inn order to get what they want as well as behind the scenes manipulation from Socialist Billionaires that drive their agenda with their influence and money. This Influence is not confined one political affiliation. You just have to open your eyes to recognize what has gone on for so long. It is past time to fix this problem. It is imperative that things must change to stop this rampant corruption.

This is exactly what the founding father intended. It would be great if it happened.

I only agree with term limits in that they limit consecutive terms with a manditory term out of office befor they can again serve. This way those that truely serve the people can serve again,
