January 1, Pro-Choice Groups To Spend $150M in Midterm Elections
Several states may see an uptick in political advertisements in the midterm elections, as three pro-choice groups plan to sink $150 million into efforts to increase voter turnout.
Planned Parenthood Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and EMILY’s List announced their plan to allocate the hefty sum toward advertising, mobilization efforts, messaging research, and polling in nine states.
The nine states — Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, California, Kansas, and Wisconsin — have key congressional and gubernatorial elections later this year.
“Let this be a warning to the out-of-touch politicians standing in the way of our reproductive freedom: People are watching. People are furious. And this November, the people will vote you out,” Alexis McGill Johnson, president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, told Politico.
