The Senate has voted to make Jeanine Pirro the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia. She got the job with a 50-45 vote, wrapping up a tough and drawn-out process filled with delays and drama from Senate Democrats.
Pirro, known for her time as a Fox News host and earlier as a district attorney in New York, had already been serving in the role as the top prosecutor in D.C. while awaiting official confirmation.
This wasn’t a smooth ride. Democrats pushed back hard, slowing down her nomination and even staging a walkout that forced a redo on an earlier vote. Their complaints? They said the president’s picks needed more intense scrutiny.
The fight wasn’t just about Pirro. It was part of a bigger standoff over President Trump’s group of nominees. With the Democrats throwing up roadblocks, the Senate stretched its work into the weekend just trying to strike a deal on how to fill these roles faster. But when that didn’t happen, they recessed for August, kicking the can down the road until September when they might try to speed things up for future votes.
Pirro and a handful of others managed to get a vote before everyone left Washington for their break. The confirmation comes as a win for conservative values and law and order, standing up to the stall tactics from the left.
President Trump made it clear he wasn’t happy with Senator Schumer and the Democrats. In his words, “Go home and explain to your constituents what bad people the Democrats are, and what a great job the Republicans are doing, and have done, for our Country. Have a great RECESS and, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
Now, the Senate plans to look at new rules that could make these nomination fights less painful in the future. For now, Americans wanting justice in their capital can feel a bit more confident with Jeanine Pirro in charge.
Wyatt Matters
Middle America knows the value of getting the job done and refusing to bow to political games. With Jeanine Pirro leading as D.C.’s top prosecutor, we see a victory for law, order, and accountability — just what everyday patriots want. It’s a reminder that standing strong against obstruction matters, and our voice still counts where it matters most.
