January 1, Pete Buttigieg Snaps at Reporter Asking About Ohio Train Derailment [Video]
ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY…
1868: The U.S. House of Representatives votes 126 to 47 to impeach President Andrew Johnson.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg snapped at a reporter who asked him about the toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.
“What do you have to say to the folks in Ohio — East Palestine — who are suffering right now?” asked Jennie Taer, a reporter for the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“Well, I’d refer you to about a dozen interviews I’ve given today, and if you’d like to arrange a conversation you should reach out to our press office,” said Buttigieg. “I’m not gonna have that conversation with you just walking down the street.”
The reporter persisted, asking: “You don’t have a message for them?”
“I do, and I shared it with the press many times today. I’d refer you to those comments,” Buttigieg reiterated.
Taer then asked Buttigeg if he would share the message directly. He declined, again directing the reporter to his earlier comments. “Right now, I’m taking some personal time, and I’m walking down the street,” he said.
The reporter asked Buttigieg when he would travel to East Palestine. “I’ll share that when I’m ready,” he said.
At that point, Buttigieg pulled out his phone and asked Taer if he could take a photo of her.
Taer shared a 46-second video of her tense interaction with Buttigieg on Twitter, writing: “I asked Secretary Buttigieg about the crisis in East Palestine and I guess he didn’t like that so he took a pic of me. I’m just doing my job, sir.”
The video of the odd interaction amassed nearly 2.8 million views, sparking public criticism from several members of the media.
Joe Concha, a columnist for The Hill, tweeted: “This is how elitists who are made uncomfortable act out. Amazing how few members of the press are commenting on this.”
Fox News host Harris Faulkner tweeted: “Why did the Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg need a picture of a member of our FREE press? Is he trying to be funny… or is something else at play here? Targeting? Journalists are allowed to speak with public officials who are in public.”
Former CNN producer Steve Krakauer tweeted: “This is totally weird, and shows the current administration’s disdain for journalists. Imagine if Elaine Chao did this during the Trump administration… Let’s see if the corporate press colleagues speak out on behalf of a reporter doing her job.”

Elitist have disdain for journalists when they don’t bow down to their authority. The msm has their heads up the a$$s of the Democratic Party. He received a pretty simple question and had an attitude of who do you think you are? Two weeks to respond to that nightmare in Ohio. No one knows what this guy even does.

Well Petey Buttplug can’t do his job, because he is never there.
And he isn’t qualified to do it on the rare occasions he is there.
He and his husband are always off bonding with their adopted kids.
That’s why he snarled at the reporter, she asked a simple question and he was too dumb to even
be able to answer it.
What a piece of s**t that guy is, just like his boss, totally inept.

This man is not fit to do the job he was elected to do. He will find his calling in organising LGBTQ events. To think he was on leave when this calamity occurred. No he definitely should resign

He’s too busy looking over his shoulder in that free state where we can still exercise our God given rights to lawfully protect ourselves especially against these morons who think we need them to decide what’s good for us when they can’t run thier own lives except straight to hell.
