  • Fans started a petition for country star George Strait but the NFL isn’t changing plans.
  • Bad Bunny faces criticism for anti-ICE beliefs and only singing in Spanish.

The NFL says Bad Bunny is still set for the Super Bowl halftime show, even though fans have petitioned for a different artist. Commissioner Roger Goodell said critics can’t please everyone but the decision was made with care.

Many fans wanted George Strait instead, gathering over 50,000 signatures on a petition for change.

“It’s carefully thought through,” Goodell told reporters. “I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback or criticism. It’s pretty hard to do when you have literally hundreds of millions of people that are watching.”

He added, “We’re confident it’s going to be a great show. [Ocasio] understands the platform that he’s on, and I think it’s going to be exciting and a united moment.”

Bad Bunny has been controversial for his refusal to play U.S. shows because of his stance on ICE. He once said, “…There was the issue of — like, f***ing ICE could be outside (my concert). And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about,” also using harsh words for agents.

Critics note that all of Bad Bunny’s songs are in Spanish. The performer told fans if they wanted English, they’d have to “learn Spanish.”

Some Americans plan to skip the main show. Turning Point USA will hold an All-American Halftime Show at the same time.

I will tape the Stupid Bowl and watch the Turning Point half time show.

Then if it isn’t a blowout then watch the taped Stupid Bowl skipping all the ads!
