January 1, Meghan Markle Faces Uncertain Future With Netflix
Wyatt’s Take
- Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal may be ending soon
- Experts say her public image is at an all-time low
- Netflix could still work with her, but nothing is certain
Meghan Markle just turned 44, and a lot of folks are wondering where she goes from here. Her once-hyped partnership with Netflix, worth a whopping $100 million over five years, is about to expire. Some say negotiations are happening behind closed doors. Others believe her run with the streaming giant may be over for good.
Royal insiders say Netflix hasn’t slammed the door shut, even though the first season of her lifestyle show was a flop with critics. “Her critically panned lifestyle series was watched by over 5 million people, so there may be a third season,” said one expert.
Streaming bosses reportedly liked her results just enough, but with Netflix moving away from those huge, multi-year deals, even the Obamas had to settle for a lesser contract.
Another royal watcher said, “The contract conclusion is a public setback and humiliation. It’s tangible proof of her plummeting popularity and lack of public interest.” Meghan’s poll numbers in the U.K. are downright terrible, and Prince Harry isn’t far behind.
The couple left their royal roles four years ago, banking on Hollywood to keep them in the spotlight. Meghan’s earlier blog and her Netflix show both received mixed reviews. Despite this, her new wine from the As Ever lifestyle brand sold out quickly. Her brand seems to be the focus now as she hustles for success, even if the public isn’t buying it like they used to.
Some say Netflix doesn’t want to drop her outright—mainly because they want to keep a cut of her product line’s possible profits. An insider put it plainly: “If you’re in the top third of Netflix, you’re getting another deal.” Still, other sources say the company may not want to invest so much cash again.
Branding expert Doug Eldridge said, “She never cracked the top 300 of the most-watched titles in the first half of 2025, so taking a haircut on the re-up would make sense from Netflix’s point of view.” According to him, both sides might do short renewals, but Netflix isn’t locked in anymore.
For now, Meghan seems dead-set on selling more products and building her empire. Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner said, “Unshackled from royal constraints, Meghan survives to thrive.” Another said, “She won’t ever stop wanting to have the spotlight on herself.” Sounds like Markle is determined, for better or worse, to keep chasing fame and fortune.
But the truth is, America loves a comeback story—but not one that’s forced, fake, or at odds with traditional values. Folks here see right through attempts to buy or manufacture public affection, especially when Hollywood glitz tries to outshine authenticity and faith. That’s something money and media can’t buy.
Wyatt Matters
Here in the heartland, we know that respect is earned the old-fashioned way—by living right, working hard, and putting family first. No contract or camera can buy you real worth. Fame fades, but faith and character stand the test of time. It’s a good reminder for all of us who believe in honest work, not easy shortcuts.
