January 1, Marines Integrate Men and Women in Boot Camp

Published

on

Under the sweltering sun at Marine Base Parris Island, a male and female recruit lock into a combat drill.

As the drill instructor commands, “Hit her! Punch her! DO something!” it becomes evident that the Marine Corps is attempting a shift – albeit gradual and sometimes reluctant – towards gender integration during boot camp.

However, this movement towards integration isn’t comprehensive.

While mixed-gender companies can be seen engaging in combat training and obstacle courses, a stark contrast emerges by the swimming pool.

Here, recruits are clearly segregated by gender.

This deliberate separation echoes the conviction of Corps leaders: there’s an essential need for some degree of gender segregation to maintain the prestige and efficacy of the Marine training process.

This half-measure follows the deactivation of the women-only 4th Marine Recruit Training Battalion at Parris Island.

The evolution towards integration has been slow, met with resistance from within the Marines.

Past leadership even opposed the inclusion of women in combat roles, a stance overturned by then-Defense Secretary Ash Carter.

Today, while the Marine Corps proclaims boot camp as integrated, the reality appears more nuanced.

Inside the swimming pool, male and female recruits train together.

Yet, in other training areas, all-male groups dominate, highlighting the inconsistency in the supposed integration.

Brig. Gen. Walker Field staunchly supports gender-separated platoons, emphasizing the Corps’ time-tested method of transforming individuals into cohesive teams.

“We break down their individuality and grow them as a team. We’re adamant about that outcome. Having the platoon model is absolutely part of that,” Field elucidated.

However, there’s internal division on the matter. Some officers, like Lt. Col. Aixa Dones, see value in maintaining all-female platoons.

Others, such as Sgt. Maria Torres, advocate for company-level integration but are hesitant about platoon-level integration.

Dissenters like former Marine Sgt. Erin Kirk argue that segregated training embeds biases, forming a rift between “male Marines” and “female Marines.”

This separation, she suggests, hinders unity.

Another active-duty female Marine officer pointed out even fundamental disparities like the difference in uniforms for male and female recruits.

Some young female recruits seem unaffected by the segregation, recognizing they’ll eventually serve alongside male peers.

However, recruits like 19-year-old Nubia Delatorre admit to the limited interaction with their male counterparts.

As the Marine Corps navigates this shift, it confronts a fundamental question: Is this tentative approach to integration a commitment to adaptability or a manifestation of its hesitance to fully embrace change?

I think integration is a bad Idea! Marines male and female work very well together, always have. Putting them together in the boot camp phase is asking for trouble in several areas. Training is very different and far more intimate than the Corps after training. It really doesn’t make sense to change something that is working so well

As a Marine that went through boot camp back in 1954 and was then sent to flight training and being a ret. LtCol. I have an idea that the ladies should be in one area and the men in another. Working in the office after boot camp is one thing, but swimming etc. IN BOOT CAMP IS A NO NO to be together.

There was a time when I would have never thought my Marine Corps would go WOKE. Hope I meet Chesty before it happens.

Just another manifestation of liberal determination to impose its political beliefs on every aspect of life, with the overriding motive being hatred for their own people, their beliefs, and their traditions. .

Somewhere along the line we will have to recognize that there is a difference between male and female. What is wrong with that?

Somewhere along the line of the “TWILIGHT ZONE” , some “??person ??” of Unknown gender dysforia , MADE a decision, then took a dump , and kept the dump. Biological males and biological females are not the same. Yes, Petey, men know what women look like , and women know what men look like. That isn’t the problem. You see Petey boy , you may take Nitro and find it is “harmless”. You take glycerin and it is harmless. You mix the two , and it is no longer harmless. So , when you have T plus V , and add D plus B , you got troubles in River City. WOKE = stupid. WOKE = winding up dead in the wrong scenario.
It was bad enough when there was total separation, but combine the two , well multiply the problem by a factor of 5 to the 10th power.

Since November 10, 1775 the United States Marine Corps has forged the most respected and feared fighting force in the world. I completed Boot Camp at Parris Island in 1962 as a member of First Battalion, Platoon 147. It changed my life forever, and instilled the strength, confidence, and cohesiveness that all Marines carry with them throughout their lives. As I landed in Vietnam, in the Spring of 1965, that cohesive mindset kept us going through unbelievable situations and conditions. The Marine Corps, or any other branch of the United States Military, is NOT a place for “social engineering” or the so-called Woke agenda. Everything we do should be about “the mission” and NOT about pronounes and feelings. That nonsense costs lives when facing America’s enemies on the field of battle.

The beginning of the end of the MCs combat effectiveness. Bunch of babies named Chesty though. This sickens me. I never thought there was the possibility of a woke MC. Like some investments, I was wrong.

I am an Army Veteran, before this sort of a thing came along. Women have a right to be in the military, but they don’t have to train together. I took lifesaving in college, and we had men and women together, but I wouldn’t compare that with the military. I don’t think they should be in combat. It would cause problems.

The cambods had women in frontline combat groups & they were scary bad, but they were all women, which makes biological sense. A 125 lb. woman can pack out another 125 lb. woman when she gets a leg or two blown off. Not so much with a 200 lb. man. For those of you desk jockeys who are unaware, i.e. haven’t been there, getting out is far more important to morale than getting in. FJB ULTRA-MAGA MIKE

This is why the US Military is led by WOKE Generals who bow before the policies of the MARXIST Dem Party and their Commander in Thief in the White House. This is pure nonsense. The only result that will occur is that the Marines will have to support the babies that our born as a result of this WOKE integration. It all goes back to the lack of values of the Affirmative Action Austin who falsified reports when he was in Iraq and now created a War with Russia.

One more step towards bringing America to its knees. The ChiComs own Biden, who has reversed every accomplishment made by Trump. Government is openly against us as corruption prevails. Open borders, mandated shots that kill people, looting and violence encouraged as the Jan. 6 prisoners rot. Bye bye 1st and 2nd amendments.

This is just another way for the woman of the world to rule the world. If you go back all through time you’ll find a woman at the beginning of all world problems.
