January 1, Man Steals From Same Store 6 Times in One Month

A Washington, D.C., man, Calvin Miller, has been charged with theft and unlawful entry after allegedly stealing from a CVS store six times in one month. The 24-year-old suspect was finally apprehended when police received calls about a theft in progress and arrested him as he left the store with stolen merchandise.

Miller had been banned from the store previously and was found to have been involved in numerous other retail thefts at different CVS stores around the city.

One social media user, frustrated with the situation, said, “Mayor Bowser ought to consider enforcing the law. The tools are right there, she just refuses to use them.”

Last October, a CVS store on H Street NE in the nation’s capital began filling shelves with framed pictures of products, including paper towels and toilet paper. This unusual tactic forced customers to ask employees to retrieve the product from the backroom, effectively deterring thieves who would grab products and leave the store without paying.

Crime in the city has become so rampant that some restaurants are spending thousands a week on security measures. Restaurateur Aaron McGovern recently revealed that he had lost tens of thousands of dollars due to burglaries of his business.

A Washington, D.C., resident, fed up with the crime, said on social media, “Had enough? Join the movement @recallallen.”

Several Washington residents have been calling for the recall of Councilman Charles Allen, who has been responsible for championing progressive criminal justice reforms impacting police work and pushing for lowering penalties on crimes.

In 2023, Washington experienced 3,470 robberies and 13,349 other instances of theft, highlighting the urgent need for action to address the city’s crime problem.

Why It Matters (op-ed)

The brazen thefts committed by Calvin Miller epitomize the consequences of the progressive criminal justice policies championed by Councilman Charles Allen and Mayor Bowser. These soft-on-crime approaches have emboldened criminals, forcing businesses to resort to extreme measures, like CVS’s picture-framed products, to combat theft.

Restaurants are hemorrhaging money for security, while the city’s 2023 crime statistics paint a bleak picture. It’s time for Washington, D.C., residents to join the movement to recall Councilman Allen and demand that their elected officials enforce the law and restore safety to their city.

Progressive liberal democrats, encourage such as that, but thats alright, the liberal democRATs in power have a car and can drive down to vagina and shop, whereas the scum that actually lives in DC cannot afford a car and would get lost going down to vagina for groceries or get shot for stealing anywhere but D.C., On the Upside, it was hilarious when the Demotrash Congressman got carjacked, and his sushimi stolen
