January 1, Letitia James Faces DOJ Indictment for Fraud
Wyatt’s Take
- The Justice Department is charging New York Attorney General Letitia James with fraud.
- A grand jury approved the charges after a criminal referral from a federal official.
- Allegations claim James falsified bank documents for financial gain.
The Department of Justice brought serious fraud charges against New York’s top law officer on Thursday.
A grand jury gave the green light for the case, which comes after Federal Housing and Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte sent criminal allegations to the DOJ.
He said, “Based on media reports, Ms. Letitia James has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire government-backed assistance and loans and more favorable loan terms.”
James had targeted Trump in a civil fraud case just before the election, a move many saw as politically motivated.
That trial led to heated moments between Trump and the presiding judge.
If these accusations against James prove true, it could shake the foundations of New York politics.
If you think justice should work the same for everyone, keep an eye on this case.
Wyatt Matters
Hardworking folks want leaders who play by the rules, not ones who bend them for personal gain. If those in power break the law, it’s only right they face the same justice as everyday Americans.
