Kim Kardashian voiced frustration over ICE raids put in place during former President Trump’s time in office. She spoke at a ceremony in Venice, Italy, where she accepted an award for her activism.

“You hear about all of the people who have worked so hard to build our country, and so many people that are such a part of our country getting affected,” she said.

Kardashian argued that the raids are hurting not just criminals, but people who contribute to America. She stressed the importance of protecting those who support the nation.

In June, she made similar points after ICE operations in Los Angeles. She used social media to call the raids “inhumane,” stressing how immigrants are woven into the city’s life.

“No matter where you fall politically, it’s clear that our communities thrive because of the contributions of immigrants. We can’t turn a blind eye when fear and injustice keep people from living their lives freely and safely,” Kardashian wrote.

Homeland Security responded by sharing criminal records of those caught in the raids. Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin publicly challenged Kardashian, asking which of the convicted offenders she would let stay.

Kardashian also mentioned she would speak to any administration, including the White House, to push for criminal justice reform. She said, “I would go to any administration and any White House to fight for the rights of people I believe in.” She previously teamed with the Trump administration on these issues.
