Wyatt’s Take

  • Kilmar Abrego Garcia must leave the U.S. after his last-ditch legal appeal failed.
  • A judge denied reopening his asylum case, saying his request was years too late.
  • Officials say this keeps a dangerous criminal out of American communities.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia tried to escape deportation by filing an emergency motion to reopen his immigration case. The court said he waited almost six years—far more than the 90-day limit for such motions.

His legal team argued he should get another chance at asylum after being sent to El Salvador and reentering the U.S.

Judge Philip Taylor ruled the motion was “untimely,” pointing to the missed deadline.

The Department of Homeland Security posted:

“With today’s ruling, Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s final order of removal stands. This MS-13 gang member, human trafficker, domestic abuser, and child predator will never be loose on American streets. His lawyers tried to fight his removal from the U.S. but one thing is certain, this Salvadoran man is not going to be able to remain in our country. He will never be allowed to prey on innocent Americans again. Never forget the Democrats flew to a foreign land on the US taxpayer’s dime to break bread with this terrorist gang member and visit him in prison. While they continue to fight for criminal illegal aliens, we will continue to put the safety of the American people FIRST.”

Some see this as a sign the system is finally putting American safety above criminals’ legal maneuvers.

If you care about law and order in your town, stories like this are why it matters who makes the rules at our borders and our courts.
