January 1, Jan. 6 Committee May Subpoena Mike Pence
Members of the House Jan. 6 committee say they may subpoena former Vice President Mike Pence, according to a report.
Committee chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) said the panel was “engaging” with Pence’s lawyers.
According to Axios, the committee received a lot of information about former President Donald Trump‘s phone call to Pence on the morning of Jan. 6, but they have yet to hear about Pence’s side.
When asked about subpoenaing the former VP, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said: “We’re not taking anything off the table in terms of witnesses who have not yet testified.”
“We would still, I think, like to have several high-profile people come before our committee,” Schiff added.
The Jan. 6 panel is also reportedly interested to hear from Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas‘ wife, Virginia “Ginni” Thomas.
