January 1, ‘It’s Just a Cold’: Biden Downplays Health Concerns Over Croaky Voice

President Joe Biden tried to dismiss concerns about his health after speaking in a croaky voice during an economic address on Friday.

“What I have is a 1 1/2-year-old grandson who likes to kiss his pop,” Biden told reporters after a speech responding to last month’s jobs report. “It’s just a cold.”

Biden said he’s tested for COVID-19 daily, not only because he’s the commander-in-chief but also because he’s a high-risk 79-year-old man.

People quickly took notice of his voice’s hoarseness.

“His voice is deep and hoarse,” BBC News reporter Tara Mckelvey tweeted. “He’s intensely focused on the teleprompter.”

“Joe Biden’s voice is so low right now he gives Barry White a run for his money,” journalist Josh Kruger tweeted. “The President’s typical warm tenor timbre has dropped about eleventy thousand octaves, and he’s now a true bass.”
