January 1, Israel Readies First Steps For Trump Gaza Plan
Wyatt’s Take
- Israel shifts tactics in Gaza, following Trump’s plan.
- Military pauses attacks, holding ground to support potential peace.
- Hamas acceptance sparks action toward ending the conflict.
Israel’s military is getting ready to roll out the first phase of President Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza and bring remaining hostages home. The army says leaders have told them to “advance readiness” and get set for the plan.
One Israeli official said the troops have stopped offensive strikes inside Gaza, but they’re still holding their positions for now. This move comes after Trump told Israel to hold off on bombing, once Hamas agreed to parts of his proposal.
“I believe they are ready for a lasting PEACE,” Trump said.
With the anniversary of Hamas’ initial attack coming up, Trump is pushing hard for a settlement. The plan has gotten wide support at home and abroad, including a thumbs-up from Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
