January 1, Gas Prices Soar Above $4 per Gallon
New data from AAA shows that gas prices have skyrocketed.
In the U.S., the average regular gas price jumped to $4.07 per gallon on Monday. According to AAA, that’s about a 45-cent increase in the last week.
The dramatic increase means prices are pennies away from setting a new all-time high.
The current record-holder for the highest gasoline price is 2008’s $4.11 per gallon.
