January 1, Every Scandal Gets Labeled Russian Disinformation Fast
Wyatt’s Take
- The media jumps to call any Democrat scandal “Russian disinformation” the moment it breaks.
- Real evidence about manipulations during the 2016 election keeps getting brushed aside by mainstream outlets.
- Average Americans lose trust when the press ignores facts to protect powerful elites.
We see a clear pattern these days. Each time something comes out that could hurt the Democrats, the media rushes to stamp it as “Russian disinformation.” But the real story is, much of this evidence is real and damning—like the fresh details about how Hillary Clinton’s campaign tried to connect President Trump with Russia back in 2016. That whole hoax turned into years of fake news, smears, and pain for the country.
Imagine if the media treated this news honestly, instead of bending over backward to protect Democrats. But that’s not the world we live in. The so-called journalists at big city newspapers run headlines like, “’Clinton Plan’ Emails Were Likely Made by Russian Spies,” instead of focusing on how corrupt leaders tried to rig an election. They want us to believe nothing is ever the Democrats’ fault.
This week, Senate Republicans released more of a special counsel report showing the Clinton campaign even worked with a left-wing nonprofit to try to tie Trump’s team to Russia. That should be a bombshell. But the New York Times just glossed over the facts, pretending that unless every email can be 100% proven, there’s nothing to see here. In fact, the report explains that while not every original email could be found, Durham’s team found lots of overlapping language and evidence—it wasn’t just made up by some Russians like the press claims.
“[U]ltimately, in weighing all the evidence,” the article said, “[Special Counsel John] Durham concluded that the Russians had probably faked the key emails…” But the next paragraph actually says the emails were a mix of messages hacked from real U.S. think tanks, including the Open Society Foundations and the Carnegie Endowment. That’s hardly the same as making the whole thing up! In fact, Durham’s own documents say his office tracked down exact matches and similar wording in other real sources.
The media wants us to think if something can’t be verified in a laboratory, then it’s not true. But normal folks in Middle America know better. “Not knowing who wrote it doesn’t automatically make the content untrue.” We use common sense, and we see what’s going on here—a cover-up to protect the elite ruling class.
This isn’t new. Clinton’s campaign, the Obama intelligence agencies, and their media allies pushed the Russia-collusion lie for years. Now we’re finally seeing the emails and notes behind the dirty tricks. But the mainstream press still calls it “Russian disinformation,” just like they did when Hunter Biden’s laptop turned up. Once again, they brushed it aside—until it didn’t matter anymore and they finally admitted it was real all along. Are they going to repeat that script, or just keep pushing the same tired lie?
Wyatt Matters
In rural America, we’ve learned not to trust folks who twist the truth to protect their own. What happens in Washington should matter to us, because when the powerful lie and get away with it, regular families pay the price. We deserve honesty from the people running our country. If we let the press and political class cover up the facts for their friends, our way of life is at stake. It’s time to stand up for truth—no matter whose party it hurts.
