January 1, Dr. Oz Running for Senate

Celebrity surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz, best known as the host of the Dr. Oz Show, announced that he’s running for Senate in Pennsylvania.
The 61-year-old announced his candidacy in a brief video, describing himself as a person who “took on the medical establishment to argue against costly drugs and skyrocketing medical bills.”
“As a heart surgeon, I know how precious life is,” Oz says. “Pennsylvania needs a conservative who will put America first, one who can reignite our divine spark, bravely fight for freedom and tell it like it is.”
Oz, who is running as a Republican, said he plans to air the video on television screens across the state immediately.
The bid for the open Senate seat isn’t Oz’s first foray into politics, having been appointed by former President Donald Trump to the presidential Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.
