January 1, Dems Battle SAVE Act: Voting Integrity or Infringement?

Published

on

House Democrats are preparing to challenge the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. The legislation is set to be voted on during the week of July 15th and would require state election officials to request proof of American citizenship before handing voter registration forms to applicants.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) considers the SAVE Act critical for protecting the nation’s elections from foreign influence. Under the act, state election officials would have to mandate that voter registration applicants provide proof of American citizenship, such as a passport or birth certificate.

Furthermore, election officials would not be allowed to register applicants to vote in federal elections unless the applicants have handed over proof of American citizenship. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has emphasized the importance of the SAVE Act in a policy brief.

He stated, “Noncitizen voting is a threat to election integrity.” He continued: “Congress must pass the SAVE Act to close the loopholes that have allowed noncitizen voting, to enhance election security, to reduce the risk of foreign election interference, and to restore Americans’ confidence in U. S. elections. [Emphasis added]”

Despite its importance, House Democrats are gearing up for a major fight over the issue. House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) is urging Democrats to vote against the SAVE Act, putting pressure on those who represent swing districts that voted for former President Donald Trump and face tough reelection bids.

A YouGov poll from July 2022 showed that 65 percent of Americans support requiring proof of citizenship to vote in elections. This includes 48 percent of Democrats, 62 percent of swing voters, and 88 percent of Republicans. In contrast, fewer than 25 percent of Americans oppose requiring proof of citizenship to vote.

Voting in American elections is for US taxpayers and actual US citizens……not foreign trash

Wrong!!!! Only federal elections require citizenship. All state and local elections require only proof of residence. A legal resident has absolutely all of the rights of citizenship except voting in FEDERAL elections. And so it should be. The screening happens at the level of proof of residence.

Democracy is founded on secure voting for the candidates of their choice. Delutiing our system by removing secure proof of citizenship would cause all legal, citizen voters to lose all confidence in our elections and destroy all facets of election integrety!

As far as I know all nations have identification before they can vote from France and Germany to India and England. WHAT IS THE DEMOCRATS AFRAID of, its seems like every election the DEMOCRATS ARE ARRESTED FOR CHEATING. I spent 10 years in the USAF and had many friends killed for freedom and liberty and we should have honest elections to enhance that freedom and liberty.

Organizations or any importance allow only members to vote on any change including changes of elected officials. Anything short of membership voting only is outside the realm of good sense and legitimacy; in addition to documenting ignorance.

Well, how else will the “Democrats” be able to cheat? They’ve been registering dead people for decades, why not add illegal aliens to the mix? That’s why the border is wide open, after all! Doh!

You’ll notice that in most “swing states”, the election supervisors are unelected Democrats, and usually appointed by Democrat officials, whose mantra is “The Democrat must win no matter who got the most votes!” This election cycle, pay close attention to the downballot spots as well. Do not elect a Democrat to ANY position, or any chance at a secure election will be lost!

Well stated. Dumb Dems will do “anything” & “everything” just for votes.

Once the Demoncats have achieved this glorious objective, they’ll fight viciously for their next noble goal, which is granting the right to vote in our elections to everyone on earth. That, mon amis, will be True Democracy! Yes! Forward, comrades!

Of course it’ infringement! It’s designed to prevent (or infringe) non-citizens from voting, which is actually a law already but never mind that! Non-citizens should most definitely have this type of infringement because it is not their right!

It’s already illegal for noncitizens to vote in Federal elections, and little evidence that they do.

Another attempt to orchestrate hysteria over a subject that doesn’t really exist.

Democrats always pull the same excuse when voting participation legislation is enforced. If we say only citizens should be allowed to vote, which makes sense, the first thing they say is that it will affect black voters and make it harder for them to vote!! Why do Demoncrats think that Black people are so stupid that they can’t figure out how to vote?? I hope that Black will recognize that they are viewed by the Demoncrats as ignorant, illiterate and helpless when it come to voting. When will Blacks as a whole understand that Demoncrats use them as fodder and only want their votes. I have heard the empty promises of helpin blacks for most of my life and each time, the Demoncrats give them just enough, if any to keep them in check, then forget about them for four years. Joe Biden said it best when he insulted them by accusing them when he said, “If you don’t vote for me, you ain’t black!” The Demoncrats EXPECT your vote. They have promised you so much and are gonna make it all better for you if you just vote for them one more time, then in four years just one more time. You are being used. Wake up!!!
