January 1, WATCH: California Doctor Pitches Floating Abortion Clinic to Bypass Bans
A doctor from California is floating the idea of a buoyant abortion clinic in the Gulf of Mexico as a way to bypass bans in southern states.
Dr. Meg Autry, an obstetrician and gynecologist, told The Associated Press that her idea is to provide a clinic aboard a ship in federal waters, where state laws don’t apply.
“There’s been an assault on reproductive rights in our country and I’m a lifelong advocate for reproductive health and choice. We have to create options and be thoughtful and creative to help people in restrictive states get the health care they deserve,” said Autry, a professor at the University of California San Francisco.
Autry said the clinic would offer first trimester surgical abortions, contraception, and other care.
“This is closer and faster access for some people, particularly for working people that live in the southernmost part of these states,” she told the outlet.
Autry said they’re still in the fundraising stage through the non-profit organization PRROWESS (Protecting Reproductive Rights Of Women Endangered by State Statutes).
Many details are still in the works, as well, Autry said, including where the boat would launch and how women would get there.

Abortion has nothing to do with “reproductive rights”. It’s nothing better than murder that the pro-abortionists want the right to do without any consequences that they enjoyed for the past 50 years after the SCOTUS made a huge error in overturning 150 years of law banning it. Aborion also is not “health care” but stillis pure murder!

All ports will be blocked when abortion ship tries to return to port due to a hurricane.

Which states have banned abortions before 15 weeks? Some may have a heartbeat law. The science is pretty clear that a 15 week old child in the womb is a fully developed human. If you choose to KILL that human by ANY MEANS then you are a murderer, dear doctor, and should suffer a penalty for “doing harm”, which, by definition, is against the Hippocratic Oath you took to become a doctor. An obvious abortion malpractice should be grounds for revocation of license to practice medicine for 1 year minimum and a fine of $50,000. The only possible reason imaginable that we would allow an ABORTION to occur after 15 Weeks would be if the child is already dead (aka miscarriage). If the mother’s life is in danger, and the child is not dead, it should be removed and put in an NICU. If it lives on, great, if it dies, then that’s also fine. But we should never allow anyone to kill a child with chemicals or a vacuum or worse. I’m also much more likely to agree that an abortion can be allowed only if the process is certified in writing by two concurring pediatricians.

Smart idea. Good idea. Way to get around the ‘thumpers imposition of their superstitions on everyone.
“Thumpers, check your theology: according to Judeo/Christian mythology a baby doesn’t get a “soul” until it is born alive. No soul = no person, thus a fetus is not a person, period.
Any official who refused an “abortion ship” port shelter in a storm would end up in Federal prison. Both U.S. and international law require all ports to offer shelter to any non-combatant ship in a storm. And if the procedures were carried out more than 3 miles offshore (international waters) the anti-choice states would have no legal basis to arrest any of the ship’s personnel or passengers. Only violations of certain Federal laws can be prosecuted on Americans for actions taking place outside of U.S. territory.

Hey WOODLAND let’s see if I can educate you on a couple of things; 1st- I believe it was REPUBLICANS who caused the first civil war by enslaving black people to do the work they were to “FUCKING LAZY'” to do themselves, so you lost that conflict “enslaving” taken ones RIGHTS away. So if the SHIT in your head is suppose to be a brain then I guess I’ll explain the second civil war which really shouldn’t happen (because we’re supposed to be more civilized) I don’t see it, but I don’t see where the democrats would be the perpetrators of such an act since it was the REPUBLICANS AGAIN who decided they had the right to just take a woman’s RIGHT away to control her own body. Well the republicans screwed the woman, how do you think this would go over, the democrats put a bill on the table stating all men (starting with republicans) have to get the operation that gets there gonads tied off so they can’t make babies, no RIGHTS FOR WOMAN and NO RIGHTS FOR MAN, I think that’s fair. MOJO, another wingnut dip shit, the ship would sail away from the hurricane and dock in port that allows the procedure. HELLO!!!!

Unfortunately making something illegal, doesn’t stop these things from happening, even though people are misinterpreting this change, as it will still be legal in some states. Just like making guns illegal won’t stop people from obtaining guns illegally, stopping abortions won’t stop people from finding a way to still get them done. It won’t make it right, and sadly being irresponsible with your body (both men and women, as it does take both to create a human life) and trying to find a quick fix to avoid the natural consequence won’t ever be okay, no matter how much people try to rationalize it.
