January 1, Biden Administration Approves Federal Worker’s Long-Term Remote Work Deal
Hey folks, there’s some big news coming out of Washington that we’ve got to talk about. The Biden folks just agreed to a new deal with a big government union. This deal lets a whole bunch of federal workers keep working from home for years, even after President-elect Donald Trump heads back to the White House! Can you believe that?
So, here’s what’s happening. The Social Security Administration (SSA) commissioner, Martin O’Malley—he was appointed by Biden—signed off on this deal with the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). That’s a huge union, representing about 42,000 people who work for the SSA. This new agreement lets them work remotely all the way until 2029.
Now, when President Trump returns in January 2025, his new team, including the smart and successful Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk, will be ready to roll. They’re heading up the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and are planning to cut down on government waste. They want to get rid of unnecessary regulations and make government agencies run better.
Most government workers at the SSA currently need to show up at the office a couple of days a week, depending on their jobs. But with this new deal, that might not change much.
Labor unions are trying to get as much done with the current Biden administration before Trump comes back. Trump’s people are looking to do some serious trimming around Washington, targeting waste and making things more efficient with Vivek and Elon’s help.
In fact, Vivek and Elon wrote in a well-known newspaper that bringing federal workers back to the office full-time could actually be a good thing. Some folks might quit on their own, which would help shrink the government workforce.
It’s not clear what Trump’s team will do about this deal when they move back into the White House, but if they try to overturn it, it might lead to a big legal battle. We’ll have to see.
Meanwhile, other parts of the government, like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), also worked out new contracts that protect them when talking to the press or dealing with science stuff.
The AFGE and SSA aren’t saying much right now, but we’ll keep you updated on what happens next. Stay tuned!
Wyatt Matters!
The new deal letting federal workers continue working from home is exciting news. This agreement means that 42,000 people in the Social Security Administration can keep working remotely until 2029. It’s a big change from needing to go to the office, and many workers like having the choice to work from home. They might be happier and do better work because of it.
When President Trump returns in 2025, his team, including big names like Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk, plans to improve the government by cutting unnecessary rules and waste. They believe bringing some workers back to the office might help make the government smaller. They think some workers might decide to leave their jobs if they’re required to work in the office more.
It’s uncertain how Trump’s team will deal with this new work-from-home arrangement. Will they try to change it or leave it as is? Whatever they decide might cause a legal battle or lead to new ways of working. The future is not clear yet, but what’s certain is that government work is evolving, and how it changes will be important to watch.

Getting rid of 80% of those workers will do the job nicely. You’ll kill two bird with one stone.

All they want is to work from home so they can loaf around and work when they feel like it period. They don’t want to give up those beach days, skiing outings, amusement parks, shopping, vacations.

If they don’t want to get dressed and go to work, then they are doing a job that we don’t need done. Let them go and trim the fat-no more overpriced bureaucrats or their excessive benefits.

this idiot of a so called president is just passinf all this stuff because he know this would help cut expenses so that the american people don’t be paying for things they shouldn’t be paying for. He can’t come up with anything worth while so, because he read that the DOGE was going to try and save us some money, he decided to implement some new stupid rules to prevent that. He hates America, just like Obama, and they both have been trying to destroy anything anyone good has been trying to do for our country. He really is a AH. So sorry to use bad words, but I’ve been around a long time (90) and what Biden & Obama have been doing is way off base. They are so stupid, because they think we are all blind to their wrong doings. Can’t wait til he is gone. And that goes for Obama too.

Since the employees are saving so much money by working from home, perhaps these employees should agree to a cut in pay for the PRIVILEGE of working from home. It’s amazing that the Demarcates can make agreements that span through another presidents term. This type of petty crap is so predictable. Allocating future funds in the BILLIONS, making ridiculous agreements with labor unions – We can only hope the taxpayers see through there silliness and continue to vote against the Dems in the Midterm and for the next President.

I’m sure all of us at one time or another needed to contact a government official. And I’m just as sure that you needed to call numerous times because your call was never answered. No was it returned. There are far too many distractions at home for one to be proficient in there job. I know. I tried it.

It’s PROVEN FACT THAT THOSE THAT WORK FROM HOME SPEND LESS TIME WORKING AND MORE TIME ON THINGS THEY WANT TO DO.
SO IF THEY DONT WANT TO GO TO THE OFFICE AND WORK LET THEM STAY HOME WITH NO PAY OR BENEFITS. I WORKED FOR FIFTY YEARS AND WAS EXPECTED TO SHOW UP EVERY DAY AND READY TO WORK. AS A TAX PAYER I EXPECT THE SAME FROM THOSE THAT WORK FOR THE GOVERNMENT. I THINK TO MANY PEOPLE WORK FOR THE GOVT AS IT IS. TO MANY AGENCIES WITH TO MANY PEOPLE.

I’ve been working from home for 20+ years.
Just because you are not enough of an adult to discipline yourself to be productive does not mean we are all little children like you.

The largest problem with federal long term remote work is that federal workers don’t work long at all? In fact it takes too long for them to start work and “claim” to have finish “The Work” long before they ever start work! AND? They do all this remotely! AND—-CONSISTANTLY!!!!!!

Biden why don’t you just come out a say your a China spy that you’re working for the Chinese then everything you did
To our country would make sense. Then you would get the that a boy congrats because you really f-cked every American
Your not only the worst president ever but you really go out of your way to screw this country. Your the most corrupt president ever
And the democrats who supported you are all corrupt and their time is up. America Americans spoke and are finished with democrats
If they get in the way of making our country great again they are going to get run over. Biden f-cked us all for 4 years with Harris
And we had enough of you and democrats. We destroyed Harris and democrats for all their corruption and they are finished as a party
If everyone one of them doesn’t quit or retire and new blood is leading them they will never gain ground.
Trump is going to eat you people up your finished and the more you fight him the deeper the hole you’re digging.

This can be cancelled by cutting the spending for these agencies. The house controls the spending. If there is no money there is no pay checks. Republicans need to quit playing into these deep-state games. Bidummy is a traitor to America and is trying everything he can in his last few days to bring it down. He’s bum-rushing illegals across the border, flying them in on tax-payer dollar, supporting them on our money when our people do without. Not worrying about our safety one bit. But I forgot the biden cartel is above the law! He is just trying to protect the union slush fund for the democrat funding period.
