January 1, Anticipation Surrounding Trump’s 2024 VP Pick
The anticipation surrounding former President Donald Trump’s choice for a running mate in the 2024 election season is palpable. Trump cannot afford another vice president who doesn’t fully embrace the America First movement, as it is the foundation of his platform and crucial to the base supporting him.
Nikki Haley, the last obstacle to Trump’s nomination, lost to the “none of these” option on the ballot in Nevada, proving that the old Republican Party is dead on arrival. The base wants Trump back in the executive branch to dismantle the entitled ruling class responsible for jailing political prisoners, sending billions overseas, closing down pipelines, prioritizing DEI over safety, and leaving the U.S. border open for terrorists.
Enter Vivek Ramaswamy, who dropped out of the race after losing in Iowa and immediately endorsed Trump. On the campaign trail, Ramaswamy is an asset, connecting with the base and presenting a wholesome family image. He also knows how to speak to the middle, calming activists and inviting them into the fold without diminishing Trump.
Ramaswamy’s appeal to Republican voters is evident, as he understands the America First movement and the Republican base. Trump needs a soldier for the cause, and Ramaswamy seems to know his role would be to support, not overshadow. Most other VP candidates lack the understanding that Trump cannot be undercut, and the movement cannot afford another defector.
On the presidential campaign trail, Ramaswamy took a different approach, embracing the positive aspects of Trump’s presidency and addressing issues without demonizing him. He offered a masterclass in handling a base scorned by the ruling class. Many Republican candidates were confused about how to approach voters regarding the political indictments against Trump, but Ramaswamy came out fighting.
He promised to stay off the ballot in Colorado as long as the state refused to allow Trump to run and pledged to pardon Trump if convicted of any charges. Ramaswamy also vowed to wage war against those responsible for the political persecution.
Some argue that Ramaswamy’s presidential campaign was essentially an audition for the open vice president position. Regardless of whether it’s Ramaswamy or someone else, Trump’s VP must understand that their role is not to run the country for Trump but to be the enforcer.
Why It Matters (op-ed)
The choice of Trump’s running mate in 2024 is crucial for the America First movement. The Republican base demands a strong, unwavering supporter of Trump’s policies and vision for America.
Vivek Ramaswamy stands out as the ideal candidate, having proven his dedication to the cause and understanding of the movement’s core values. His ability to connect with the base and appeal to the middle is essential for Trump’s success.
With Ramaswamy as VP, the America First movement can thrive and continue dismantling the corrupt ruling class, ensuring a brighter future for our great nation.

Vivek Ramaswamy, Kari Lake, Kristi Noem and Tim Scott would all be good choices for Trump’s VP.
