January 1, Trump’s Bold Endorsement Shakes Up House Speaker Race
Donald Trump, our President-elect, just gave a big thumbs-up to Mike Johnson for the House Speaker role. Trump thinks Mike is a hard-working, religious guy and says he’ll do the right thing for our country. Trump wrote on TRUTHSocial that Mike has his “Complete & Total Endorsement” and added a big “MAGA!!!”
Trump called the GOP the “Party of COMMON SENSE” and reminded Republicans that they need to stick together. He bragged about running a smart and less expensive campaign and warned Republicans not to waste the chance they have been given.
Some folks who support Johnson want Trump to jump in since there’s a battle coming for the Speaker’s spot. Around 4 to 10 Republicans might not vote for Johnson. Congress is arguing a lot about spending. They even passed a bill with more help from Democrats than Republicans. It’s a mess!
Immigration is another topic where Republicans can’t agree. Doge co-leaders Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk say we should hire foreign workers, which some Republicans aren’t happy about.
Trump had a big win in November, but Republicans only have a tiny lead in the House.
Trump also talked about Vice President Kamala Harris wasting money on celebrity endorsements. He claimed her failed campaign spent millions, including on people like Beyoncé. But Beyoncé’s mom said she didn’t get paid to support Harris.
Reports say the Harris campaign paid Oprah Winfrey’s company money and donated big sums to organizations linked to people like Al Sharpton, who supports the Democrats.
This story is still unfolding, so stay tuned for more updates.
Wyatt Matters!
Mike Johnson is getting support from Donald Trump for the House Speaker role. Trump thinks Mike will work hard and do good things for our country. He posted on TRUTHSocial saying Mike has his full support and added a big “MAGA!” It’s clear Trump believes that Republicans need to stay united and use this chance to make a difference.
Republicans are having some disagreements about spending and immigration. Some people want Trump to get involved because they aren’t sure if everyone will vote for Mike Johnson. There are arguments in Congress, and sometimes they have to work with Democrats to get things done, even though they might not want to.
Trump also spoke about Vice President Kamala Harris, criticizing her for spending a lot on celebrity endorsements during her campaign. He said her team paid big amounts to people like Oprah Winfrey and donated to Democratic supporters like Al Sharpton. Some people were unhappy about this spending, especially when Harris’s team didn’t win big. All these issues show there’s a lot going on right now in politics, and we should pay attention to what comes next.
