January 1, Greedy Co-Star Torpedoes Beloved 80s Classic Sitcom Reboot Plans

“Facts of Life” actress Mindy Cohn has revealed that potential plans for a revival of the classic sitcom were scuttled due to the actions of a “greedy” co-star, an issue all too common in Hollywood today.

Cohn painted a picture of the once-loyal bond between cast members, forged over the first 40 years of friendship, as shattered when fame and fortune became the primary focus. The well-loved actress broke her silence during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live” on July 24. However, she declined to name the star who proved detrimental to the reunion plans. Cohn declared the projected reboot of the show “dead.”

According to Cohn, iconic producer Norman Lear had contacted all four “Facts of Life” actresses about a possible revival after the 2021 success of their “Live in Front of a Studio Audience” special.

Lear’s enthusiasm was palpable, recalls Cohn. His belief in their enduring popularity sparked serious discussion of the reboot among the star quartet. The actresses began working with a writer and held meetings with Lear during COVID via Zoom.

Unfortunately, their initial excitement was short-lived. Cohn, who portrayed the beloved character Natalie Green, revealed the alarming swift breakdown of their plans caused by one of their own.

“There was drama,” Cohn confessed, explaining that one of her former co-stars sought a separate deal for a personal spinoff, leaving the rest of them devastated.

“Some people can’t move past it and don’t want to,” she stated, signaling a significant change in their unity. The stunt had undermined their decades-long pact of loyalty and support for each other.

“What it is, it’s really sad,” Cohn lamented, expressing her shock over the lengths some people will go to for fame or money, even sacrificing deep, true friendships.

Though Cohn refrained from giving away the name of the offending actress, she hinted that fans could detect who she was referring to by noting who she ‘doesn’t’ post about on social media. This unfortunate incident serves as a grim reminder of the darker side of Hollywood and the challenges it poses to enduring relationships.
