January 1, Demi Bares All at 61: Vulnerable Experience with Co-Star in Movie

Demi Moore, at 61 years old, bared it all for her latest film, “The Substance,” describing it as a “vulnerable experience.”

During a Cannes Film Festival press conference, Moore said, “I had someone who was a great partner who I felt very safe with.”

She credited co-star Margaret Qualley for helping her feel comfortable during the naked scenes.

Moore shared, “We obviously were quite close – naked – and we also got a lot of levity in those moments at how absurd those certain situations were.”

In the film, Moore plays Elizabeth Sparkle, a fading celebrity attempting to regain her youth using a black-market drug that creates a younger version of herself (Qualley).

After using “the substance,” Sparkle becomes disfigured by the abuse she endures from “her other half.”

Seeing herself in prosthetics was “very strange,” Moore admitted, but added, “My dog still recognized me. It was my touchstone of reality.”

Moore has previously appeared nude in 1995’s “The Scarlet Letter,” and in 1996, she starred in “Striptease.”

Reflecting on her Brat Pack fame in the 1980s, Moore said, “For me, I didn’t love it, being thought of as a brat because I thought it kind of diminished us as professionals.”
